With numerous research contributions from the research groups Physics of Environmental Archives and Tropical Climate Variability and Speleothem Research we were successfully represented at the international Karst Record 10 conference. Yao Wu presented the results of his doctoral thesis and Dr. Sophie Warken presented her research results on the Laacher See explosion and the expansion of the SISAL database. Dr. Nils Schorndorf reported on climate change at the end of the Maya culture and with two innovative contributions on machine learning strategies in paleoclimate research by master students (Celine Kolb and Stephanie Gutmayer) we have set an exclamation mark. Aaron Mielke also reported on new research results based on high-resolution trace element measurements in Puerto Rico using laser ablation. A great success for the group and many new ideas and contacts.
